Workshop Registration Process and Cost
Program Application & Confirmation
Convening workshop groups that are small and intimate remains one of our highest priorities. We therefore recommend applying as early as possible, as space can become limited.
We will immediately process your application, and will be in touch with you by phone or email within 5 business days to confirm your registration. If you do not hear from us within this time, please contact us at 802.496.5690. All accepted participants will receive a Registration Packet by email or regular mail with a workshop schedule and site details, travel information, and recommended accommodations (if the workshop is not residential).
Travel: Coordinating transportation, including ground transportation from an airport to/from the workshop site, is the sole responsibility of the workshop participants. We recommend that you contact our office prior to booking your travel to discuss suggested arrival and departure times based on the workshop schedule.
Payment and Cancellation Policy:
A processing fee of $35 is due at the time of registration. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application. Within five days thereafter, we will confirm by email your acceptance with an invoice for the remaining program balance due. Full payment (by check or credit card) is due within 2 weeks of invoice issue to retain your space in the workshop.
Refunds of the workshop fee are available, less the $35 processing fee, if you give notice of cancellation at least 3 weeks before the workshop begins. Should you need to cancel within 3 weeks of the workshop or need to depart early, no refund will be available. Please be aware that late minute cancellations often prevent those on our waiting lists from participating.
Center for Whole Communities reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to insufficient enrollment, but will do so no fewer than 2 weeks prior to the workshop. In the event of such cancellation, participants will be offered a space in an equivalent future workshop or a full refund. Center for Whole Communities is not responsible for the reimbursement of travel expenses incurred by participants. We therefore recommend that you speak with our program manager before making any non-refundable travel arrangements.
Costs
Until a year ago, we have been able to make nearly 100 percent of our programs tuition-free. We do this out of our belief and commitment to making a place for everyone, regardless of means, and through the generosity of donors and foundations who make this possible.
As we all know, the funding climate in the current economic times is causing change across the board. We will continue to fully fund all fellowships to our Whole Thinking Retreats. In addition, we are offering a suite of workshops for which we will charge a modest tuition. At Knoll Farm, we will cover the cost of your lodging and meals at no extra charge. If the workshop is held away from Knoll Farm, there may be an additional charge for room and board. We encourage participants to pay the full fee if possible, though we do maintain a modest scholarship fund and do our very best not to turn anyone away from our programs due to financial need (please see below for details).
Leadership Development Scholarship Fund:
Center for Whole Communities is committed to creating equitable access to our work, and to that end we seek to make workshops affordable regardless of financial means and capability. The Leadership Development Scholarship Fund is designed to provide financial support to participants who, without such assistance, would be unable to attend the workshop. We offer a limited number of scholarships for each workshop, the quantity and amount determined in large part by funds available for disbursement; not all who apply are guaranteed assistance.
Scholarship Fund Schedule & Process:
Scholarship applications are due six (6) weeks prior to the workshop start date. We will collectively review all applications received by this date, and will be in touch by email within 1 week to notify you of the level of assistance we are able to provide. Upon notification, full payment (by check or credit card) is due within 2 weeks of invoice issue to retain your space in the workshop.
