Giving Levels
We are grateful to each person who is committed to strengthening our work and that of thousands of leaders around the country. No matter the size of your gift to Center for Whole Communities, your support makes a true difference – thank you for your generosity.
Benefits of Giving
Your gifts help foster…
- A stronger, more effective movement for change in this country.
- A growing community of leaders committed to building and sustaining whole communities through their work.
- A new approach to conserving land and building community that honors the human in land and the nature in communities.
(And did you know that research indicates that charitable
giving stimulates the pleasure center of your brain?)
Here are a few ways that we would like to thank you for your gift:
Sustaining Gifts
All donors can choose to be Community Sustainers, who are vital to the health of our day-to-day operations. These important donors choose to donate a fixed amount to Center for Whole Communities each month. For example, someone supporting us at the level of $120 may choose to have $10 per month charged to her or his credit card for twelve months.
Call 802-496-5690 or email info@wholecommunities.org to learn more about becoming a Community Sustainer.
Of course, we need to have updated contact information for you, so please remember to keep us up-to-date!
Honorary & Memorial Gifts
Do you know someone who is committed to bettering their community? Consider making your gift in honor or memory of someone. If you supply the contact information, we will send that person or their family a note card notifying them of your thoughts.
You can make an honorary or memorial gift online , supplying the information in the “comments” section, or by calling 802-496-5690.
Gifts of Stock
Many donors choose to make a gift of stock rather than a cash contribution. Please be in touch with Co-Director Ginny McGinn (802-496-5690) to ask specific questions and to get details on how to give stock.
Gifts-in-Kind
Often people have items that they no longer need, but that could be very helpful to a nonprofit organization. And, the donor can often take a tax deduction for the fair market value of the item. We have our own wish list of items - large and small - that would be expensive for us to buy new, or are proving difficult to find used. All would be very helpful in caring for the retreat center at Knoll Farm.
Some items on our wish list include:
- Used pick-up truck
- digital camera
- wireless lapel mikes
- road rake
- pressure washer
- wood splitter
- bark spud
- froe (small tool for making spoon blocks)
- electric car or truck
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts come in many different forms – from bequests to charitable gift annuities to gifts of insurance and many more – please consult with your attorney or financial advisor about including Center for Whole Communities in your plans.
Matching Gifts
Many companies match their employees', board members', or retirees' charitable contributions. Corporate matching gifts provide a way for Center for Whole Communities' donors to maximize their personal contributions and increase the impact of their gift. By taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit, it is possible to double or even triple your contribution.
This meaningful support makes a critical difference to our ability to create whole communities across the nation. Please ask your human resources office if they match contributions and send in their matching gift form with your pledge.
