Sustaining Gifts
All donors can choose to be Community Sustainers, who are vital to the health of our day-to-day operations. These important donors choose to donate a fixed amount to Center for Whole Communities each month. For example, someone supporting us at the level of $120 may choose to have $10 per month charged to her or his credit card for twelve months. Donors who choose to be Community Sustainers receive a set of Whole Communities note cards.
Call 802-496-5690 or email info@wholecommunities.org to learn more about becoming a Community Sustainer.
Of course, we need to have updated contact information for you, so please remember to keep us up-to-date!

Honorary & Memorial Gifts

You can make an honorary or memorial gift online , supplying the information in the “comments” section, or by calling 802-496-5690.
Gifts of Stock
Many donors choose to make a gift of stock rather than a cash contribution.
Charles Schwab handles our stock contributions. You can reach them by phone at 800-871-8304 or by fax at 877-566-0897. Their DTC # is 0164 and their ABA # is 021000089.
Gifts-in-Kind
Often people have items that they no longer need, but that could be very helpful to a nonprofit organization. And, the donor can often take a tax deduction for the fair market value of the item.
Some items on our wish list include:
- Ten-passenger van to transport retreat participants to and from the airport
- Washing machine
- Walk-in refrigerator
- Chairs
- Tables
- Sleeping bags
- Rain gear including waterproof farm boots
Please consult the Internal Revenue Services’ guide to charitable contributions for deductibility information.
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are one of the most generous ways to ensure that whole communities work will continue to thrive. Many people make planned gifts during their lifetimes so that they can see their donation put to work. Others choose to leave a lasting legacy.
Planned gifts come in many different forms – from bequests to charitable gift annuities to gifts of insurance and many more – please consult with your attorney or financial advisor about including Center for Whole Communities in your plans.
Matching Gifts
Many companies match their employees', board members', or retirees' charitable contributions. Corporate matching gifts provide a way for Center for Whole Communities' donors to maximize their personal contributions and increase the impact of their gift. By taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit, it is possible to double or even triple your contribution.
This meaningful support makes a critical difference to our ability to create whole communities across the nation. Please ask your human resources office if they match contributions and send in their matching gift form with your pledge.
