Join the Alumni Network

Center for Whole Communities is its alumni. Whether you are an urban gardener, a wilderness advocate, or a community development practitioner, your work building whole communities is what inspires us to keep going. And, now, you can connect with each other, share pictures, find alumni in your region and explore many other exciting opportunities, all through our online alumni network—check it out!

We want to support you. Please let us know if you would like to see something else on our Resources page, or if you would like your work to be profiled in our quarterly e-newsletter ComPost or our annual Whole Thinking Journal. We may also be able to help if you are looking for a member of the Whole Communities alumni network to partner with on a project.

NEW: Alumni Field Program

Join us October 17-19 in Furman, Alabama for our first ever trip to see whole communities work in action and to honor the exceptional work of our alumni.

Help us chart the future of our alumni program!

Over the course of winter 2007-8, we hired a consultant to interview a subset of retreat and workshop participants about their experiences taking part in the Whole Thinking program. She spent part of each interview asking alumni how they would like us to help them make changes in their work following their retreat or workshop experience. Based on their thoughts, she came up with the suggestions in the document below. We encourage you to read it and then tell us what you think. Which ideas resonated? Would you like to see Center for Whole Communities doing any of the work suggested in the report? Are there other ideas you have for how we might expand our alumni support program? We look forward to hearing from you.
