Program Evaluation
At Center for Whole Communities we take our internal evaluation very seriously. In addition to a two-step written evaluation that we request from each of our programs’ participants, we also hire Danyelle O’Hara as a consultant to conduct extensive interviews with a selection of our fellows each year. Danyelle has been doing these evaluations every year for the past five years. The frankness and honesty of our alumni is a gift to us as we endeavor to truly be a learning organization that has the capacity to be self-aware and to grow from both our successes and our failures. These in-depth program evaluations are studied very carefully by our staff and our faculty and our board of directors.
Because we aspire to be as transparent as we can be about what and how we are learning, we have taken the unusual step of posting the summary of the evaluations on our website. We feel that our learning journey, complete with its sweet spots and its blemishes, has educational value to other groups and to individuals who are also trying to be inclusive and to set a table for all. We believe our honesty and our intention will be rewarded even when it exposes our struggles. We are an organization that believes success is not possible without taking risks, making mistakes, and learning.
